Back to Living!

The kids have been having a really hard time adjusting to apartment life so I've been trying to take them out every morning to a park just to focus on having fun! Sometimes we get to meet up with our friends which is always double the fun!

Saying Goodbye

What makes a house a home? The official definition of a home is "a place where one lives; a residence." There are so many other sayings about homes that take it a little deeper. My favorite that encompasses how I'm feeling about my home is: "Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts." Oliver Wendell Holmes

I'm excited to find a new house, something bigger and better in a nice neighborhood with sidewalks and parks and a good school. But I'm so sad to leave the only home my kids have ever known and the first house Justin and I shared together. There are countless memories to cherish. My kids had so many important FIRSTS here. So on this week we pack up and leave our home, I wanted to relfect on those times.

Being a Mommy

Last night I made the mistake of watching a movie on Lifetime about a baby that gets kidnapped! I think all parents worst fear when we have newborns is that we're somehow going to kill them. When they pass the infant stage, the fear turns to kidnapping or horrible injury. I've had both fears with Paige come a little too close to realization!

It got me thinking about enjoying every precious moment and never taking my children for granted. When I watch things like this I wonder why and how I could allow thoughts and fears to enter my head. But at the same time I think it's good to remember. I tend to get lost in the hustle and bustle of life and don't always remember to take those daily moments and appreciate and cherish them. With the stress of selling a house, renting an apartment and trying to find a new house I think my kids have gotten a little lost in the shuffle.

This past week when we started moving things out they started getting needy and clingy. Since then I've tried to put aside my to-do list and just focus on paying attention to them, loving them and making them feel secure. Last nights movie was another reminder to just enjoy every moment and never take them for granted. Being a mommy is such a blessing filled with daily rewards and I want to enjoy this time when they're little. Today especially I am reminded how blessed I am to be their mom!

I literally take hundreds of pictures a month so my "favorite" can change on a weekly basis. Here are a few from the past month that are my current faves and moments to cherish!

Happy Mothers Day!
