Home Sweet Home

The other day I got new checks in the mail and it occurred to me that this is the first time EVER that my checks address match where I actually live! This is such a huge milestone to me, silly as it may seem. I started counting back to how many places I've lived since I moved out of my parents home at 20. There were fifteen that I could remember! That is a lot of change of address forms!

We moved into our new home six months ago and plan on spending the rest of our lives here! It is exactly the house we wanted so hopefully there's never a need to move again! I want my children to grow up here and to come home for Christmases to the memories they made here. I want them to someday bring their children here and say "this is the room where...." or "I remember when...."

It takes a while for a house to be a home but I definitely feel that this has become exactly that! I was waiting to post pics until our house was "done" but I'm now realizing that will take years! So here's a little tour of our "Home Sweet Home!"

We still have work to do outside but right now I'm happy to have green grass! Justin is happy to have a four car garage. For the first time we can park all our vehicles inside and have room for storage too.

You walk in the front door into the formal living room.

The double doors lead into the den/office.
The formal dining room is in the same room as the formal living.

This is the poster that WAS over Reed's bed in his Toy Story room before it got kicked off the wall. Currently under repair!

The closet wasn't picture worthy either even though it's the biggest closet I've ever had!
And that's it! Thanks for visiting our home! Hope to see you soon!

Reed's 4th Birthday Party

We had Reed's 4th birthday party at one of his absolute favorite places: Fingerprints Museum! http://www.fingerprintsmuseum.com/ This is an interactive children's museum where the kids get to use their imaginations. Reed loves it mainly for the trash truck, firetruck and ambulance displays. Reeds main obsessions in life right now are trains, firetrucks and monster trucks. Since there is a firetruck on display here, we had a firetruck theme!

Every year as we make new friends and settle into our hometown the parties get bigger and bigger. We had a limit of 25 people at the museum with our family taking up more than half so this year I decided to let Reed choose just a few friends to invite instead of me making the list for him and having a huge party! Reed is like me in that he prefers to be with a few of his close friends instead of the center of attention at a huge party. It worked out perfectly and he had a great time!

I once again attempted to get a picture with each of his friends but once again, forgot after just getting a few shots!

I think this is Reed's favorite display! It's a replica trash can where the kids can sort the trash and recycle bins.

Reed and Samuel think the same way. They both built the same thing with these giant tinker toys with the same colors in the same place!

Reed got his cute little shy smile when we sang to him!

Justin cut Reed a ridiculously large piece of cake!

This was the funniest moment and I actually got it on video too! Samuel and Reed were so excited over the gift he got him and they both just kept laughing so hard!

We had a blast at Reed's 4th birthday party! Thanks to all of Reed's family and friends that spent his special day with him!
