Fall Festivities

October has always been my favorite month of the year and fall my favorite season. Maybe it's my New Hampshire roots and the memory of leaves changing color and the smell in the air. California definitely has a more mild version of fall but it remains my favorite time of year! The colors, the weather and all the Halloween festivities!

This season did not start as expected with Paige making her first trip to the ER. She was climbing her toybox and fell backwards onto her shelf splitting her scalp open.

She had to have three staples to close the laceration. It was definitely a heart stopping moment for us and one I will not soon forget! But if anything it made everything sweeter because it was a reminder of how life can change in an instant. Our children are such precious gifts from God and we need to never take their health and livelihood for granted!

After the horror of that day we did a pajama day with comfort food!

I remember my mom letting us lick the batter off the beater while baking!

My kids definitely enjoyed it too!

The finished product!

I love her crazy faces!

Paige was back to normal almost immediately and ready to get into some more trouble!
Time for carving pumpkins!

I was surprised Paige was much more into it then Reed.

He just wanted to use the tools to carve the furniture!

Paige decided to sample the pumpkins!

Checking out the finished product.

The one on the right is supposed to be ghosts....

Saying goodnight to his new friends!

Time for the Pumpkin Patch!

Reed LOVED watching the cars race!

Paige just wanted to run around.

Last year we took Reed to the tractor ride and he started crying as soon as the engine started. This time he actually drove it all by himself! He is so fearful of everything this was a really big step for him!

He switched to a smaller, easier to handle vehicle!

We were all cheering for him so this is his embarrassed face!

We keep trying for a family pic with everyone looking and smiling at the same time. Hasn't happened yet!

Playing in the pumpkin patch

Found something more her size!

Reed just wanted to run all over the field

Next stop, the petting zoo!

I love fall with the family! Can't wait until Halloween!
